Chicago-based indie music producer Lanzo follows up his LIMBO EP (feat. PaTTxPiFF) with a new beat tape titled 4000dB. Armed with an MPC1000, Lanzo’s cosmic, old school, boom-bap oriented sound can be characterized by it’s warm, soulful downtempo vibrations. Mainly a solo effort, he does however enlist the help of few fellow producers including Ian Ewing, Spellwrks, Headband, Deadxbeat, and Morbidly-o-Beats. The latter’s entry features a a floating trumpet line and MoB’s trademark thud rumble drums. With songs clocking in at around one minute each, 4000dB goes by far too fast and is definitely worthy of repeat listens.
